About Your Trip
İzmir is easily accessible from central UK, Ireland, and Europe with direct flights offered by airlines like Pegasus, Jet2, TUI, EasyJet, SunExpress, and Aer Lingus to Izmir ADB airport. UK and Ireland passport holders do not need a visa to enter Turkey.
Transportation to the city center from the airport is convenient. A taxi ride takes about 30 minutes and costs approximately 20 pounds. Alternatively, you can opt for the train IZBAN, which offers frequent services, reaching Alsancak station in just 20 minutes at a cost of less than one pound. To reach the train station, simply cross the street as you exit the terminal. You have the option to purchase tickets using your credit card or utilize your contactless VISA card at the turnstile. From Alsancak station, Kaskaloglu Eye Hospital is just a short 10-15 minute walk away. For more information about city transportation, you can visit the airport website.
Izmir offers a variety of hotels in different categories, and most of them are conveniently located within walking distance to the hospital. In this digital age, many of our patients prefer to arrange their own transfers and accommodations. If you prefer, Volley Hotel and Üstün Hotel are the closest accommodations to the hospital. However, we are always here to assist and provide any necessary help. Even if you make your hotel reservation independently, we offer free transfers between city hotels and the hospital for your convenience.
A noteworthy detail that might capture your interest if you find yourself with some spare time: Approximately 400m from the hospital toward the Alsancak train station lies a newly established museum complex. You can explore more about it on their website: https://izmirkultursanatfabrikasi.gov.tr/en/. Within this complex, you’ll find an archaeological museum, an arts museum, and a library. Additionally, there are two inviting cafes where you can unwind and enjoy light refreshments.
